Re: Ken collection - Others vehicles
There is also the MP manual 'Uso e manutenzione' and MP 'catologo parti ricambi' which are available to download. I know someone who will recognize this Ape 500MP. It's not too far away. - Ken

Re: Ken collection - Others vehicles

Re: Ken collection - Others vehicles
It's important to have original part numbers for the model of MP that you have because although part numbers change with revisions in production everything can be traced back to the original number. I run into this all the time when ordering P501 parts. What model of MP do you have and a photo would be nice. When ordering parts it's a good thing to provide the serial number and motor number for reference. With out of production Api you'll find parts are getting harder to find. An inexpensive used Ape is a great source of parts, cheaper than buying a lot of individual parts (sometimes) but you must have storage. Ken

Re: Ken collection - Others vehicles
Gianni.

Re: Apecar di drflicorny
I agree - it gets confusing after awhile and difficult to find specific postings. There is also a Spare Parts Catalogue for P2 on my website. This P2 was purchased here new and still looks like new today. It's about 1 1/2 hours from my house. Your Ape looks really nice. Buy some 'fluid film' if you can find it and do some undercoating and touch up painting. Look in my Piaggio Ape Photo Gallery and different P2's to see where they rust and treat it. I use 'Rust Mort' to kill the rust spots and after a bit of wire brush/sanding touchup the paint. It'll be nice for a long time. - Ken

First you maintain what you have, then you restore things. It's important to know the Ape very well to understand it and sort out what needs to be done - a list helps. Brakes, tires, clutch, cables, tuning and of course rust. These are the really important things. Check out 'vespacar restoration' on my website, it will give you some insight into the process, also maybe go through Api di Ken from start to current page, there's a lot of tips there which would be useful. That would be Simon on top, checking things out. - Ken

Tll part 3 - fan belt - pull out the rubber plug, push a pencil down until it touches the fan belt. Make a mark on the pencil. Push down to take up the slack in the fan belt and make another mark on the pencil. Measure the distance between the two marks with a 7mm wrench. If it's more than that between the two marks tighten the fan belt. Get a mirror and light and look up inside the fan shroud to see if there are any cracks in the fan belt and if you find any replace it. - (put the plug back in its place) - Ken
