Only the P601V (volante) - P501's are (manubrio) - all of them, it wasn't an option. - The P601's were (manubrio) - In India Piaggio Vehicles produces the D600 (manubrio) 1tonner and also produced the 1.3 tonner which had the option of a steering wheel but it's no longer being produced, replaced by the Ape Xtra and Xtra LD (long deck) - The 1.3tonner is essentially the Ape Classic with 422cc Lombardini diesel motor. - If you're interested in the Volante version also look in France, but they have 125cc motors (P400V). in Svizzera la 501 era importata solo con il volante!

Only the P601 was offered with a steering wheel (volante). The P501 was a lower cost vehicle and only was supplied with handlebars (manubrio) and the steering wheel version was not offered as an option. If there's a P501 with a steering wheel, I'd love to see a photo. When have you ever seen a P501V ? Ken
