Saturday was the Bayfield Fall Fair and Parade so I took the Ape Classic and joined the Parade. Put a couple of my Construction signs in the back. Some of the photos were taken by friends along the Parade route. - Ken

yes the numer is above the added switches (hopefully you can still read everything)
its a c1 or a c2
the enigine also has a number.
are you going to buy a real ape??

Must be a C1 model, see left hand switch and horn, but 3500$ is far too much...

Yes, it's way too much. It does run, the looker who took the photos said it started on the second pull. Does anyone have a picture showing the location of the serial number on the dash ? I'd forward it to the owner, I'd be interested in tracking it down. Ken

Thanks, I'll send your photo with the picture frame around the area as well as this one which shows the location of the serial number on the motor as well. Going to be a problem getting the full serial number because there's a bolt right in the middle of the number holding the switch plate someone added just below. grazie, Ken

No, I thought you told me a P401 wasn't a real Ape, besides I have enough in stock and another P501 I'm working on adding to the fold, and it's closer to home. Ken

a real ape has rounded doors
a real ape has a round cabin
in a real ape you "sit on the engine
for the purists:
a real ape has the headlight on the front fender
a real ape has suicide doors
a true ape has no doors and no bodywork

as you can see a 401 is far away from being a real ape.............

Installed the newly recovered backrest and seat in gray. I use window glazing tape (black) with a solid center (for compression) and apply it to the frame members but leave the paper top in place so when the pianale is set in place it can be adjusted while tightening all the bolts. Takes away all the rattles. The side bolts (2 on each side) aren't installed yet, they will be used to hold the "topper" in place. Not much time for the Ape so things are proceeding slowly. I've had to replace the dual action brake pump (codice 195662) and convert to the European single action pump and I'll post photos of this conversion. Easy for you folks in Europe, a bit of a problem for us folks as no replacements or kits can be found for repairs. Ken
