cant change gear, the selector on the engine seems to be seized. will the selector come off engine? or do i need to strip engine?
any tips?

Does the clutch control work properly? Unfortunately I have never disassembled the gear selector. Here is a drawing, maybe it can help you:

AD1T - Sitting over time in a damp location moisture gets in the swivel shaft and it seizes as was mine. Tried lots of soaking in lubricants to no avail. So much force had been used trying to free it at some point in time the hoops that hold the cable ends were bent.
Gave it to my machinist friend who drilled a tiny hole in the shaft casing to allow lubricant to enter and in no time it swivels and clicks like new. He also straightened the cable hoops. - Ken
