Sgrippatissimo !!!!!

Messaggio da marcobrasil77 »

Salve Ragazzi,

GRAZIEEEEEEE

To Ken:

I seized many times as you can see from the pictures, now I have to buy the boiler, I have a P 501 in 1990, so I should look for a heating unit with cylinder 63 like this........

Right?

Rectification costs on 90/100 Euro in my city, is convenient ?
You have other suggestions?
Then after installing the new one or the old ground I'll have a break in period?

Grazieeeeeee

If it's the original 63mm piston you can buy oversize pistons 63.2 - 63.4 - 63.6 and have a machine shop hone the cylinder for the new piston kit. Here are specifications from the manual with clearances. There will be a breaking in period of time once the new piston is installed. You must use high test gasoline with 2% mix (2 stroke oil) and set the mixture screw on the carburetor out 2 1/2 turns from full stop. Aniello can offer you a prepared cylinder and piston kit at a reasonable price if finding a machine shop is difficult - Ken

NO gasket at the base of the cylinder head. You must make sure the groove is clean and the hole for the breather tube is free of obstructions. You're engine couldn't breathe, it's plugged! BAD - VERY BAD

Grazie Ken, molto gentile....

so do not need the red paste over his head and even the seal, because there is no in the   spare parts manual ...
I only put the seal at the base of the thermal unit
I contacted Mr. Aniello.

quindi non serve la pasta rossa sopra la testa e neanche la guarnizione, perchè nel manuale ricambi non c'è...
devo mettere solo la guarnizione alla base del gruppo termico
ho contattato Mr Aniello.

metal to metal between cylinder head and the cylinder. The breather tube acts as a crankcase breather and must be kept open and not plugged up or it will affect motor operation sometimes backfiring - Ask Aniello for a complete gasket set for MP, I found him a big supply of them and they're reasonable in price - you need a new paper gasket between the cylinder and the engine casing and you'll need a new muffler gasket as well.
The arrow on the top of the piston must point upwards towards the exhaust when installing. - Ken

Allora forse, come si vede dalla foto, il tubo di sfiato è chiuso dalla colla rossa ed ha provocato le varie grippate ?

So maybe, as you see from the photo, the vent pipe is closed by glue red and provoked various seized?

Grazie Thanks

If the vent hole is plugged it causes other problems to be magnified. The scoring of the piston shows signs of overheating usually caused at first by too lean a fuel mixture. It's very important to properly run-in a rebuilt motor. I had a client who took my black P501 ( I'd just installed a new piston kit in ) on a 11km drive at high constant speed. An aluminum piston expands more quickly than the cast iron cylinder ( it's called 'cold seizure' ) and he seized the motor which had to be rebuilt again after I supplied the parts. An engine must be properly warmed up before high speed runs. - Ken
