I've uploaded two movies on our website "Vespacar in Bayfield" and "Off to Maine, USA" which were taken when the boys were leaving our house to take the P501 to Maine, USA - Ken
Stew's Vespacar and Paul's Vespacar get to meet each other in Maine, USA - And guess what arrived at our house in Bayfield yesterday in this trailer? - Ken
Of course you can - It was almost as exciting as bringing home the Ape! There's also a P501 Owners Handbook (a photocopy) which I've got to scan and make available. It's printed in English/French/Spanish. - Here are some more photos that I took the day of it's arrival - note the different controls on the handlebars, particular to Canada/USA Vespacars - Ken -
She's in my garage and started working on it. Clutch cable had broken so a silly fix was made (which didn't work long plus there was a new cable in the box!) - Can't believe the underside which is very clean and with little to no rust anywhere - New mirrors, cabin beading, windshield wiper and must change the oil, about 1 1/2 litres in it now (too much) and go over all the cables (a heater cable was used for a shifter cable and it broke- new ones in the box!) - Ken
- I put on a new wiper arm & blade, new cabin beading, new turn signal lenses, door straps. Then I pull the clutch/shifter handle to remove the broken clutch cable - and I find a gear shifter cable had been used (too small an end) so a copper tube spacer was used to take up some of the room in the handle (it's soft so was worn and very loose). This is what I usually find whenever someone has tinkered with a Vespacar - Ken
