Urgent help needed APE MPF1T / P400v

Hello!

I purchased a MPF1T from France with 122,5cc from 1981 and am trying to register it here in Germany. Unfortunately the vehicle papers have very little information. I contact Piaggio Germany / Netherlands / France / Italy and nobody was useful to help.

The german authorities want the power of the motor. I purchased this document: http://www.vespadoc.com/fr/piaggio-ape- ... mpf1t.html

It has everything else like weight, dimensions, cylinder size, gears etc. but no power.

Where can I get the power of this vehicle? I would greatly appreciate your help.

Regards!
Phillip

Perhaps, you need the "Type-Approval Technical Data Sheets", from Piaggio for 80 Euro:
https://service.piaggiogroup.com/Vintage/richdetail.asp?L=de&B=Vtl.

Here is an example for AD1 model (see to "potenza max effettiva")

Thanks! I applied for that but no response :-( I called Piaggio also.

It has everything apart from the motor power. Your document is also missing the motor power. It only has it as "Potenza fiscale".

Maybe a Vespa with the same 125cc motor?

I have made an inquiry for a Homologation document for the P400V which would show the HP rating for that motor - hang on, waiting for a reply - Ken co:;

Wow, you would be our saviour!

Is the MPF1T and the P400v identical? If I search for the MPF1T (as in our vehicle documents) many websites speak about the P400v.

Very beautiful vehicle btw.

MPF1T had the shovel fender up front - P400V has the P601 front fender. 125cc for motors in both. I suggest you upgrade using 189cc cylinder head, cylinder and 63mm piston if the wrist pin is the same 16mm - as used in P501 and I can send you a Homologation Document for it but authorities may want original so we wait.
You might contact Frank (tell him Ken sent you) as I bet he has the information you're looking for and a great contact for you. He has 600MP and a 600MPV.
Nice looking Ape you have there - Ken

Thanks for the suggestion! I just emailed Frank. Let's wait and see.

I really hope we didn't just burn a bunch of time and effort with this project. Would be a real shame.

You can always hand them this Homologation document for MP. You're going to need more horsepower for the Espresso Ape - Ken

Unfortunately that is completely not allowed in Germany. The motor must match the vehicles specifications. Changing the motor is as if you are trying to registered a new vehicle which would require a completely new certification process according to current exhaust laws and cost a heap.

Got it! DGM 7281 OM

I will call Piaggio tomorrow and inform them as I applied for the Homologation documents via their website last week. They guy told me today it can take up to 30 days for them to reply but that I am in the system and gave me a customer ID.

Ohh, and Frank told me to ask Jürgen: http://kamm-oldtimer.de/
