Il mio Ape / My Ape TM

Messaggio da smithjames0 »

This is my second Ape, my first is an AD1T here.

The Ape is a 2006 TM P703V ATM2M Tipper which was for sale just down the road from where I live.

The rear wheels on the Ape are seized so it couldn't be winched onto the trailer, the seller had a forklift truck we could use to the Ape onto the trailer, however getting it off was more problematic!

History
The Ape has been MOT'd a few times in it's life, in the UK every vehicle that is three years old or over must have a MOT every year.

The next year it was MOT'd it failed twice

Since 2011 the Ape has been off the road (SORN in the UK). The Ape must have been stored outside during this time as there is a fair amount of rust, unusually there is a lot of rust on the structure under the rear deck. The items listed as advisories are still an issue now.

I fitted a new Lucas 40AH battery and tried the tipper, to my amazement it worked first time!

I have tried to dissemble the rear brakes as they are completely seized but no matter what I do they still will not free up.

Things to look / buy!
Ignition barrel
Free the rear wheels/buy new hubs
Try and start the engine
