- Yes, a drill will work. I can get oil to the pump and the pump turns but doesn't then push the oil through the upper tube to the engine. So - I have to pull it apart and check to see if there's a blockage or something else wrong inside the pump itself. grazie, Ken

forse - i pezzi erano rimasti seduti a lungo e abbastanza sporchi e il mio impegno iniziale di pulizia avrebbe potuto perdere un blocco. Lo farò di nuovo. Ora hai un OHMmeter per testare bobina e centralina

At this rate your police Ape will be done before I register mine for the road. Great work and inspiration!!!

The process will not be short. Still waiting for parts so I can start re-assembly. Between me and the finish line are two more Ape restorations/conversions that will take up my time. I'm in no hurry but will be happy once it's back at my shop so I can continue when I find energy and time. APE BUBBLY is next and a quite short timeline.
APE BUBBLY is receiving a major facelift. The loss of my wife has left me stumbling somewhat and clarity of mind I find is missing - understandable but difficult - Ken

POLICE APE AD1T My Ape AD1T is not the only one brought into the USA that has a clutch pedal. This must have been at the request of the Dealer to Piaggio. The owner has nicely filled in the cabin rear with a metal panel containing a large rear window. Nice touch in my mind and suitable for the weather in Oregon. - Ken

The clutch pedal was an accessory that was available with my Ape, as were the doors, which cost $50, and there was no charge to keep the headset clutch control. Brand new out the door the Ape cost $1,250 not including the registration and tax. The cab was delivered later. It would be interesting to know how that was coordinated, as you know the cab bolts together.
You are a stronger man than I am, your work and hobby keep you active.

Then I'd like to order 12 brand new AD1T's with doors but minus the foot clutch. All the same color, whatever is available! I'll make up a list of spares I'd like with the order. 8 Pentaro's in the order, 4 of each version. - DREAM ON! - Ken
I will have them painted my own colours and apply my logos once they're all here in Bayfield!.

That's a bit of history. Makes me believe the foot clutch was installed at the factory. On the sales sheet was 'No Charge' to install clutch on handlebars. On my Police Ape an aluminum rod was installed with ends smoothed and finish to accept paint and professionally done. It would have had to be removed to install the handlebar clutch cable and have the clutch lever work. The clutch pedal on mine doesn't look like it was locally manufactured. Intriguing.

I have the place opposite the brake to mount a clutch pedal, may have been the salesman "sweetening" up the deal by throwing in the already handlebar mounted clutch for free. I just wish mine didn't have that awfully huge back window in it, the smaller one you showed before is perfect.
