Thats a Vespa in the last pic my friend is doing one up. You can see the badge on the front. The Tula sign is for the one next to it at the Riga Motor Museum in Latvia. http://nn44.org/index.php?m=3&f=750&lg=en
You can just see the beading of the Tula next to it the shot was taken just before the moved the display.

It's the Russian licensed version of the Vespa. Called a VYATKA. Not a Piaggio logo. Here it is clearer in the VYATKA file on my website - Ken - http://www.kjjohnson.ca/piaggio/picture ... rentPic=16 -

^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^ Yep your right, my mates has bars, a single saddle instead of a pad and a light on his mudguard too. Beautiful machine though. Im off for a look to see how well Vjatka copied Vespas. Im sure i saw one years ago that looked like a GS160. I would mind one if they all look as good as the one in that picture.

they also used 4:50x10 tires due to the poor road conditions. A neat feature is the gas cap. In the one photo you can see a small loop of wire on the top of the cap. Evidently inside hanging on a small chain was a vial used to measure the oil to be introduced into the tank to obtain the two stroke mix required. Neat idea. I haven't found a photo of the vial - yet. - Ken

An anecdote relates that in the early 60s, after the release of Vyatka unlicensed Piaggio, we prided despite the fact that the Russians were able to go into space They were the first), to make a nice scooter had to copy the Vespa.

Besides the larger wheels and tires the Russians used a heavy gauge of steel in the body - again the rough conditions factored in these decisions - Ken

COPYING IS THE ULTIMATE FORM OF FLATTERY! (according to some)
