Early Ape C models. Question: The photo 'Ape baskets' shows an Ape C in I believe Hong Kong. On the roof of the cabin under the baskets you can see a roof vent that is open and obviously the stamped opening would have been made at the factory, perhaps for Far East models or by Dealer request. Has anyone ever seen this feature before on an Ape C production model? Roof vents have been installed by owners but I've never seen a factory one before. Interesting. Ken

Almost makes me cry seeing a Pentaro towing a hay rake! When I was a young boy I raked hay at my grandparents farm with a team of horses - never a Pentaro. - Ken

Vespa House in Australia 1956. Vespa scooter Dealer that had two Ape C's. Unfortunately no frontal photos of them and the photos are somewhat faded. There are other photos on my website. - Ken

L'ape ad Ischia.

Correva l'anno 1962. Pontedera catena di montaggio ape c. A sinistra appoggiato all'ape c'è Giovanni il mio meccanico che si trovava in fabbrica per i corsi di aggiornamento. All'epoca aveva un officina nel centro storico a L'Aquila. Successivamente chiuse per andare a lavorare nel concessionario Piaggio dei fratelli Concordia dove divenne capo officina. Tutti i mezzi Piaggio che sono qui a L'Aquila (fino alla chiusura del concessionario nel 1988) sono passati tra le sue mani. Oggi a 75 anni e continua i lavori di restauro su molte motoveicoli d'epoca ( e fra poco anche sul motore del mio ape)
