Even a low mileage Ape that's been sitting inside for two years will suffer from moisture in the brake fluid and it plays havoc with the brake cylinders. One piston stuck, full of rust. Installed new front brake cylinder, make sure to re-install the Piastrina, brake tool for installing the springs on the brake jaws, put on the brake drum & spring clip, adjust the tension of the brake jaws on the drum and then bleed the front brake one more time to flush out any old brake fluid. Top up the reservoir with new brake fluid. Put on the front wheel and then finish the installation of the handlebars. - Ken

I use a ribbed spline as a gasket on front fenders ( it's used for aluminum windows ) and it protects the paint from vibration of the fender - I buy it at our local Hardware Store - Ken

Funny noise in the clutch - used Mark's clutch tool which makes the job easy and my mini Japanese ratchet to undo bolts in tight places and discovered the thrusting plate securing clip (anello ritegno piattello) was on the underside of the plate instead of on top and was also installed backwards so it secured nothing, just rattled in there - some people! - Ken -

Put all the tools away, back it out of the garage and the battery is so low it will hardly turn over the motor! Left the ignition on too long while sorting out the electrical problems. It's on the charger while I wait - Ken

Pulled the clutch, the clutch plate was like new but the key in the shaft was very loose. Someone had changed the clutch and couldn't remember how it went back together. Installed a new actuating pad with the spring clip on top like it's supposed to be, and put a new half moon key in the shaft and re-assembled - Ken
