the rear hydraulic brakes are a diffferent matter.
the front is like any old moped or motorcycle, a classic one leading shoe brake.
some things to be checked: movement and play of the segments .
a washer might be missing, a spring worn and last but not least the small plates at the bottom?
other very common stuff for brakes not acting the way they should is imitation linings (insufficient play, or the wrong material)
past summer i thought a 50 had no more steering bearings but the only problem was low tire pressure..........do not underestimate simple things....i think a wheel bearing might do funny under braking load......
