Finally i've finished (kind of) the restoring of my ape. I'm plannig to rebuild the bed on next summer (in the documentation there is the date when it was converted from the box bed to the standard one). from the last update i've done this works: Changed the brakes pump, tires and inner tubes, the leather of the seats, built the radio holder and the glovebox, rebuilt the elecrtical plant, changed the seals of the doors, bought new mirrors annd polished all the alluminum bits ad pieces. In the meantime i maneged to get the diving licence and i started using it. I only have a doubt with the max rpms and speed i can do with it safely. If anyone has an answer I will be glad to hear it.

Complimenti Luca2000!, Ottimo lavoro. È bellissimo! Cornuto2

Today I disassemble the cylinder and found some damage to the piston rings and cylinder. Also the seal between the cylinder and the cranckase is missing and instead they've put some red silicone. I have a doubt about the vent on the head: on the head there is the hole, but in the cylinder it's missing. I was wondering if the cylinder i've linked here can fit my engine.

Hole on top of the cylinder - remember it's a compression fit of the aluminum cylinder head so the vent tube acts as a form of emission control allowing gasses to pass up the tube and sent by a hose to the air filter box.

Importance of doing a compression test to determine status of the piston and rings. With 63.4 piston you have now you need a 63.6 piston kit and have the cylinder bored to fit. Install the proper gasket on the base of the cylinder when fitting for best fit.

By the looks of the cylinder it's not the correct one. Best to buy the correct one that's already been honed and includes the new piston kit. Look here for reference: - http://www.kjjohnson.ca/piaggio/VESPACA ... 0OVERHAUL/ -
